Use the search on this page to find Silencer® Select siRNAs, Silencer® siRNAs, and TaqMan® Gene Expression Assays for human, mouse, and rat genes.

How to Search

  1. On the start page, you may choose your method of search.  You should see both "Search database for Silencer® siRNAs and TaqMan® Assays" and "Browse Pathway Atlas for siRNAs and TaqMan® Assays".  If you don't, or you need to start over, click on the toolbar.
  2. If you wish to search by Pathway, click the Browse button or the banner image in the "Browse Pathway Atlas for siRNAs and TaqMan® Assays" banner.  You will be directed to the Pathway Atlas tool.  If you have already visited the Pathway Atlas earlier and viewed a particular pathway, then clicking on this banner image will return you to the last pathway you viewed.  When you are finished with the Pathway Atlas, click View shopping list to return to this Workflow Builder interface.
    Note: It will return you to either 2a. siRNA Controls or 2b. TaqMan Controls depending if you selected any siRNAs or TaqMan® assays from the Pathway Atlas. The Workflow will also adjust the steps presented to you as you step through the program.
  3. To perform a text search, simply proceed with selecting your search options in the "Search database for Silencer® siRNAs and TaqMan® Assays" area.
  4. First, choose your Search by option from the dropdown choices ("Keyword" is selected by default).  You may use the [Tab] key to move mouse cursor focus to the next form field (See all search options listed below).
  5. Next, select the Species you want to search ("All species" is default).  Press [Tab] key to move to the next option.
  6. Depending on the search type you selected in the earlier step, you may not need to select a search Criteria.  Only the appropriate criteria options are presented as possible choices.  For example, searching by a "Gene ID" will only have "Matches" as a criteria, whereas "Keyword" has all four choices available. Press [Tab] key to move to the next field.
  7. Finally, type your Search Term in the text field.
  8. Click the Submit button, or simply press the [Enter] key.
  9. A progress indicator will be displayed while the tool is searching the database.  When finished, the search results will be displayed below your search form.
  10. Unless you searched for a particular siRNA or TaqMan® ID, the results will display a list of target genes, along with its gene ID, gene name, species, and number of available Silencer® and Silencer® Select siRNAs and TaqMan® Gene Expression Assay products for that gene.  Click on the Gene Symbol link to see its corresponding gene information and related Silencer® Select and Silencer® siRNAs and TaqMan® assays.
  11. If you searched by an siRNA ID or TaqMan® ID, a positive hit will only display that matching product with its relevant gene information. However, there is a link to "View Related Products"; click it to view all Silencer® Select siRNAs, Silencer® siRNAs, and TaqMan® Assays available for that gene.
  12. The products are grouped in expandable/collapsible panels. By default, Silencer® Select siRNAs and TaqMan® assays are displayed expanded, while the traditional Silencer® siRNAs are collapsed, unless Silencer® Select siRNAs are not available for the selected gene. Simply click on the title bar to collapse or expand a product group.
  13. Click the button next to a product to add it to your shopping list.  Click to remove it from your shopping list.  Products you add to your shopping list appears in the Status Panel to the right of the tab.  These products are listed underneath the corresponding Gene Symbol/Species, with Silencer® Select siRNAs listed first, Silencer® siRNAs second, and TaqMan® Assays last; its options and a descriptor is displayed beside it.  Simply left mouse click, at any time, on any product listed in the Status Panel to view its corresponding product page.
  14. A new feature is an updated dynamic Alignment Map. Click on its title bar to expand its display. You may select a range in the map to zoom into a particular region. You may also use the map to toggle siRNA and TaqMan® products in and out of your shopping list directly from the map, by clicking on the appropriate colored triangles and bars, respectively. They are highlighted with a colored square to indicate it is in your shopping list. The map display is synchronized in real time with the Status Panel list and the product selection lists. Click on the checkboxes in the map's legend area to toggle viewing additional Silencer® Selects / TaqMan® Assays, or all Silencer® siRNAs. These are also linked to "View Additional siRNA(s)", "View Additional Assay(s)", and the titlebar for Silencer® siRNAs panel, respectively.
  15. You will have the opportunity to select the options for your siRNA products at a later step, in the 5. Review & Order step.  These options may include purity, size, or label.
  16. If you wish to see the results of a previous search, click to bring up a menu of your 10 most recent searches performed.  Left mouse click on one to view its results page immediately, without the need to search again.
    Note: this is only visible after performing your first search and you are not currently on that results page.
  17. To perform another text search, simply enter your new search criteria by repeating the steps above starting at step 4. To start over completely, click and repeat from step 1.
  18. Otherwise, click to proceed to the next step in the workflow, or you may click one of the other tabs to skip ahead to a different step if you like.
