5X MEGAscript Kit Enables Efficient Crystallography
Dr. Barbara Golden's laboratory (Purdue University) used Ambion's 5X MEGAscript
High Yield Transcription Kit to transcribe milligram quantities of RNA--3.75 mg purified group I intron from bacteriophage Twort--for crystallography (Figure 1). The superior performance of this kit led to increased product concentrations, which reduced sample volumes and improved the efficiency of subsequent purification steps. Three to five mg/ml RNA generated with this bulk reagent kit allows production of 250-1000 crystallization drops for X-ray crystallography.
