Silencer™ siRNA Libraries

The number of Silencer™ siRNA libraries for specific classes of genes is increasing. All of Ambion's Silencer siRNA Libraries include three distinct siRNAs for most targets to enhance confidence of the resulting gene silencing data (see RNAi: The Controls You Need).

The optimized siRNA design developed by Ambion's partner, Cenix BioScience, allows users to expedite pathway and genomic analyses because of high siRNA potency and specificity. Specialized subsets of many libraries are available for more focused studies. The contents of these subsets are based primarily on designations in the Gene Ontology database (see www.geneontology.org).

The siRNAs are provided as 20 µM solutions (1 nmol each) in 96 well plates. This amount is sufficient for approximately 400 transfections (i.e. 100 µl reactions using 25 nM siRNA). A CD, included with each library, contains complete siRNA sequence information, gene target information (targeted exon, gene symbol, gene name and aliases, RefSeq number, Locus ID), and available results from siRNA-specific validation experiments.
