Spin Columns provide a simple way to recover DNA from agarose gels after electrophoresis. Simply excise the band of interest from the gel, place it in the spin column and centrifuge for 5 minutes! The DNA is forced through the column into the tube below while the agarose is left behind. The DNA is then ready for subsequent manipulations such as restriction enzyme digestion or ligation.
