Several sources of oligo dT matrices were tested to determine which gave the highest yield of mRNA. Ambion's oligo dT binds messages with as few as 8 adenylate residues in their poly(A) tail, assuring that mRNA species with short poly(A) tails are not preferentially lost during purification.
